Agent Setup
From WIKI for BlogSphere, a Lotus Domino Blog
Blogsphere relies on some background agents. These agents have to be enabled to run on your server.
There are 6 agents in the template:
- Verify Referers
- Responsible to validate if a referring site has a link to your site. If yes, it will show up in the Referrers Block.
- It is recommended to setup the Referrer Blocker first.
- Will recognize referrers from search engines and mark these for display in the Recent Googles Block .
- Verify Trackbacks
- If a visitor to your blog leaves a trackback, it is being checked before displayed.
- PurgeReferrers
- In your Blog config you can configure how many days a referrer may remain in your database before being deleted by this agent.
- Notify Blog Owner of new comments
- In your Blog config you have to configure your email address on the contact details tab. If you did so, BlogSphere will send you an email every time a visitor leaves a comment.
- Update Stories Calendar
- This agent is responsible to create a stories calendar document.
- Housekeeping
- Is cleaning up the page hits counter profile document.
At a minimum the "Update Stories Calendar" must be enabled. Also, ensure you replace the server name with the fully qualified name of the Domino server the database is running on.
