Enjoy BlogSphere
Most important so this is first: Blogsphere tries to be as user friendly as possible. Users should not require any help using Blogsphere. Check Browse Blogsphere to get an idea what Blogsphere has to offer.
Installing BlogSphere
First you have to download the current release from the OpenNTF project page.
Install Blogsphere from scratch
Upgrade Blogsphere to newer release
Configuring BlogSphere
Blogsphere needs configuration in several documents.
You can configure BlogSphere as PhotoAlbum if you do not want to write a blog but use the photo album features.
Configure your Domino HTTP Server for better client side caching: configure HTTP reply header
Configure your Domino HTTP Server with DominoCompleteDoctype to prevent browsers to use the quirks mode. If you see any problems with browsers, try this first!
Working with Resources
Blogsphere uses Resources to store documents to be used for several different functions.
Blogsphere "Meta Tags" Resource
Blogsphere "Emoticons" Resource
Blogsphere "CSS Files" Resource
Blogsphere "Java Script" Resource
Using BlogSphere
BlogSphere has support for the metaWebLog and Blogger API. So you can use applications supporting these APIs to add stories to BlogSphere
use Blogging software to add stories
If you are not familiar with Blogsphere yet, you may want to check out our list of Blogsphere reference sites.
Developing BlogSphere
Blogsphere is available as OpenSource Lotus Notes template. Using a Lotus Notes Designer Client you can enhance the template or help fixing bugs.
If you have minor changes, just post your code changes on OpenNTF. If you have several code changes you may want to access the Blogsphere development server directly. This server is being maintained by Declan Lynch.
